Teeth-In-A-Day for Independence, Blue Springs & Lee's Summit MO

When it comes to restoring teeth, many of us are used to the idea that the process takes several weeks to complete. But what if you could get your smile fixed in under 24-hours, no matter how many teeth are missing?

That’s the idea behind the Teeth-In-A-Day - a radically innovative restoration procedure available through Dental Excellence. The treatment's purpose is to give you the smile you want in a day or less without multiple trips to the dentist. Our dentists at Dental Excellence complete the process in a couple of sessions with no downtime in between.

Teeth-In-A-Day: Restore Your Smile In Less Than 24 Hours

Teeth-In-A-Day is one of the most exciting concepts in modern dentistry, but how does it work?

Teeth-In-A-Day is for patients with one or two rows of missing teeth, perhaps due to decay, multiple extractions, or extensive damage. The first step of the procedure is to install four to six dental implants into the jaw bone - similar to those we use for single-tooth replacement. Once the posts are in place, we attach a bridge, complete with a new row of teeth, allowing you to start chewing immediately.

You can use your new implant immediately because of how the bridge distributes chewing forces across the mouth. Unlike individually-implanted teeth, chewing pressure doesn’t fall on a single post. Instead, the prosthetic spreads forces across the entire jaw, recruiting multiple implants at the same time.

In the following weeks, the titanium implants fuse with your jaw bone, providing additional support. At this stage, you simply return to our clinic to swap out the temporary arches and replace them with permanent ones.

What Are The Benefits Of Teeth-In-A-Day

Teeth-In-A-Day uses the All-On-4 Dental Implants system, offering a host of benefits. These include the following:

Eat Normally Again Quickly

With Teeth-In-A-Day, you can start eating normally again the moment you leave the dentist’s chair. The temporary arches you receive in your first session are ready to go from the outset, without requiring waiting for months for fusing to take place.

Save Time

When you lead a busy life, the time it takes to get dental treatment is an important consideration. Ideally, you’d like your full mouth restoration done in a day or less instead of having to take time out of your busy schedule for multiple appointments.

The Teeth-In-A-Day concept makes this possible. We combine tooth removal and implant insertion on the same day, giving you a full smile makeover that is ready to go the moment you leave the office.

More Confidence

Nobody wants to go through life hiding missing teeth or feeling self-conscious about their smile. Teeth-In-A-Day uses the All-On-4 dental implant restoration system to create a beautiful, natural-looking smile that looks as good, if not better, than your original teeth.

Furthermore, because Teeth-In-A-Day uses implants, you don’t have to worry about slipping. Unlike dentures, the prosthetic will not move around in your mouth. It’ll just behave like ordinary teeth, giving you peace of mind when you go out for meals or entertain guests.

Improve Jaw Strength

Like most parts of the body, the jaw works on a “use it or lose it” basis. If you regularly stress it with chewing, it’ll remain robust and maintain its size. If, however, you stop chewing, it’ll slowly atrophy, giving your face a sunken appearance.

Missing teeth can adversely affect how your jaw appears and functions. Patients who are worried about dentures slipping, for instance, chew more gently, which places less stress on the bone, causing it to decrease in both size and strength. Those with no teeth may struggle to apply any pressure at all.

Teeth-In-Day corrects this issue. It increases pressure on the jawbone by mimicking the function of natural teeth, encouraging it to remain thick and robust. Over the long-term, it helps to maintain the shape of your face as you age.

Improve Comfort

Wearing traditional dentures isn’t always the most comfortable experience in the world. Many patients experience rubbing and jaw discomfort.

Fortunately, Teeth-In-A-Day implants side-step this issue, again by mimicking natural teeth. Unlike dentures, you do not need to use adhesives to hold your new teeth in place, and, at the same time, you eliminate slipping.

Who Is A Good Candidate For Teeth-In-A-Day?

Sometimes, specific health issues can rule certain patients out as candidates. Various autoimmune diseases, osteoporosis, and diabetes can all make some patients unsuitable for the procedure. Patients on certain medications that interfere with the bone's capacity to heal may also need to explore other smile restoration techniques.

Because Teeth-In-A-Day relies on implants, having good bone density in the jaw is also essential. Patients require sufficient bone structure to hold implants in place when chewing. The Dental Excellence team will assess your current density and tell you whether you can accommodate the necessary implants as part of a day procedure.

Finally, while Teeth-In-A-Day is a powerful intervention, it works best for those who take active steps to look after their health. Smoking doesn’t necessarily rule patients out for the procedure, but it can affect the healing process and create additional complications. At Dental Excellent, we strongly recommend that you quit before receiving treatment.

How Does Teeth-In-A-Day Work?

First, dentists at Dental Excellence will determine whether you are a good candidate for Teeth-In-A-Day. If you are, we will then take measurements of your mouth and take impressions to create your new set of teeth. Once we do that, we will then extract any remaining teeth before surgery.

On surgery day, we install the implants in your mouth and anchor them to your jaw at a special angle. We then apply the overdentures providing you with a complete biting surface you can use immediately. Finally, once the implants fuse, we remove the temporary arches and replace them with a new, permanent set.
